11-13     Start Your Engines! 

Bring your RC cars and join us in the RC control tower for the first Rip Van Winkle Campground RC race of the season!  Don't have a car?  Hang out on the bleachers and cheer your favorite car to victory!  Don't worry, if you get "RC Fever" you can come up to the store to get one of your very own!

18-20     Easter  

Settle back to watch Mother Nature bloom during this season of rebirth and renewal.  While you're here look for the Easter Bunny and go on an Easter Egg hunt!   

25-27     Welcome Back Giant Bonfire  

Grab a chair and join us as we kick in the season with family, friends, music and snacks around the bonfire.



2-4         Good Old-Fashioned Fun Weekend

Let's relive the simple pleasures of days long gone.  Forget the electronics at home, say good-bye to your worries for the weekend and just enjoy each and every moment. 

9-11       Mother's Day Weekend

Let Mom know how thankful you are for her! Bring her camping and let her relax for the weekend.   We'll have coffee and danish in the store on Sunday. It's mom's day so her coffee and danish is on us!

16-18     Rip Van Winkle Campground's Camper Dog Show!  

Dogs, here's your moment in the spotlight!  Have your human register you to be in the show! 

23-26     Memorial Day Weekend

Let's honor our fallen and enjoy what they fought so hard for - our family, our friends, and our freedom! 



5/30-6/1 Scavenger Hunt

Join us for a scavenger hunt!  There will be hunts for all ages!

6-8          Get Outdoors !

Come celebrate the great outdoors at Rip Van Winkle Campground!  Join us in the early evening for stories and roasted marshmallows by the fire!

13-15    Father’s Day Weekend

This is Dad’s time to kick back and relax! Fish, race on the RC track, or relax by the fire. Come in to the store Sunday morning for coffee and danish.  Danish is free for dads, of course!

20-22 &

27-29     Dog Days of Summer are here!

Now’s the time to see what a good old-fashioned swimming hole formed by a cool mountain stream feels like. If the stream’s too cool, try our heated pool! Or take a scenic drive into the mountains and see what tubing on the Esopus is like. There are lots of ways to cool off in the land of Rip Van Winkle!



3-6            Independence Day! 

Enjoy our trout fishing, Bass fishing, pedal boats, horseshoes, hayrides, bingo, RC track (bring your own cars), outdoor games, swimming, bingo, arcade, and movies.  Saugerties hosts Independence Day parade, car show, events at Cantine Field, and Fireworks. 

11-13       The Hudson Project

Music and Arts Festival drawing 30000+ people.  This an experience of a lifetime,not to be missed!  Go to hudsonmusicproject.com for more information about the event.  We will be providing a bus to and from the event and snacks in the morning before you go.  Reserve your spot today!

18-20       Pool Party Weekend! 

Pool games, music, snacks and so much fun you won't want to leave! 

25-27      Christmas In July

Christmas is magical, especially in the land of Rip Van Winkle! Bring your Holiday Spirit and decorations! Site decorating contest, kids coloring contest, and a visit by Santa tops it off! 



1-3          Old West Cook-Off

Cook up some western grub and enter the cook-off contest! Try it over the fire for a really amazing flavor! Categories of Judging: Best Meat, Chili, and Dessert. Cook-off participants sign up in the office before noon on Saturday for instructions. Judging at 4:30pm. Potluck dinner open to everyone, 5pm (Please bring a dish to share if you don’t enter the cook-off contest.)

8-10         Ice Cream Social Weekend

Summer goes by quickly, so enjoy it while you can. Take a hike on one of the many hiking trails in the area. Letterbox, GeoCache, swim, shop or go sightseeing! Ice Cream Social on Saturday ($). 

15-17      Camping Your Way - Make this weekend whatever you want it to be. Take advantage of all Rip Van Winkle has to offer or go out and about. We’re happy to offer suggestions –just ask! Whatever you choose, join us for games and marshmallows around the fire on Friday! 

22-24       Where can you watch a calf be born, go to a concert, go on amusement park rides, all while drinking a fresh-from-the-cow milkshake?  The Dutchess County Fair!  The amazing things to see and do at the Fair don't end there!  Visit the Dutchess County Fair for an experience of a lifetime!

Club Rip's Casino Weekend – Feeling lucky? Place your bets! Rip's Bucks won't make you rich but you'll have a terrific time. Use your play money winnings to bid on prizes.
26-28 Kid's Day and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Fundraiser! - Rip loves kids!  Join us for our second annual kid's day on Saturday and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Fundraiser Silent Auction!  Lots of fun activities for kids to show them how important they are!  Enjoy the weekend camping with the family before school get going agai



8/29 - 9/1   Labor Day Weekend

26-28        Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

Get ready for a real treat as vendors from around the country prepare an eclectic assortment of culinary garlic treats. Fun, food and sensory delights await your entire family in beautiful Saugerties.



3-5            Halloween Weekend

Bring your decorations and costumes! Costume parade, trick or treating, site decorating contest, haunted trail.

10-13       Columbus Day Weekend

Come enjoy the fall foliage during the last big camping weekend of 2013. Don’t miss the GIANT bonfire!
